What I do

Frozen
An elderly lady taught me some basic macrame knots as I was 9 years old. At that time only hemp or packaging cords were used for macrame projects like wall decorations, plant hangers and owls. Which I all made and then completely lost any interest in macrame until one winter evening 2012. I happened to have some thick packaging cord and started to play with it. As a result I made this doll (my self-portrait :)) and that was how it all started.
Then I spent a lot of time researching online about macrame and was astonished how far this handicraft has developed over the past years and what beautiful things one can do using only a couple of knots yet different kinds of materials. I became a micro macrame fan.
After some time and practicing I made a couple of pieces of my own (half of them already given as  gifts to friends) and then came the decision to bundle my experiences (and also my achievements! ;)) in form of a blog.
This blog is also my chance to contribute to promoting this wonderful art of jewelry making so that it gets the attention it deserves and shakes off the old plant-hanger- image.
I  have never worn any jewelry in my life - much less making it, so I have a long way ahead of me of learning and trying out new things and techniques. Which is fun, because I enjoy the process much more then what comes out at the end. I would like to share not only my best works, but also the examples of things that went wrong. And of course it is also about macrame artists I admire and their works.

English is not my native language, but it somehow feels more natural to me blogging about my hobby in English. I would also be happy to talk to you in German or Russian.

Have fun!
